Close-up

Marlee

When I clicked the camera button, Marlee was at least a foot from the lens.   But during the instant it took for the camera  to do its thing, the quick Marlee moved in for a close-up.     The results remind me of the many other action videos I’ve shot during my years at WSB-Television.    I try to follow 3 of the principles of good photography:  lighting, composition and the moment.  Video is more forgiving than still photography.   But sometimes the best results come when your subject takes control as this almost 4-month-old did in this picture.
