The current Emory Health magazine is headlined by an article called “The Big Sleep”.  Emory Health is a publication of Emory University in Atlanta.  One of several conclusions is that genetics play the biggest role in determing whether we suffer from insomnia.  However, researchers believe that ” both genetic and environmental causes may contribute to narcolepsy.”  Narcolepsy causes extreme daytime sleepiness.  The experts also told writer Robin Tricoles that both too little and too much sleep are not good for us.    They say that right at seven and seven and a half  hours seems to be “the happy place” for most people.
