Replacement officials

In watching several National Football League games today, there did not seem to be much difference between the replacement officials and the regulars. Team owners have locked out the regulars in a dispute over pay. The replacements I saw also move well. I just saw a Denver defensive back intercept a pass and sprint to the end zone. The replacement official was running fast right behind him. Some of the play-by-play announcers and analysts seemed to be prejudice in favor of the regulars. But whatever the replacements did or did not do did not seem to affect the outcome of any games. Congratulations to Peyton Manning and his return to the NFL. Manning’s Denver Broncos defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-19.

One Response to “Replacement officials”

  1. Ned Puddleman Says:

You must not have seen the 4th timeout Seatle got in the game vs Arizona or the missed block in the back call that happened in the 49er vs Packers game when the Packers ran a punt back for a TD. Only because the Cardinals won and the Packers lost is it not a big story. Both of those blown calls could have been game deciding. The replacement refs are great for the games they officiate but they are in way over their heads for the NFL games.
