Out in the cold…

WSB-TV’s (channel 2 action news) coverage of the cold, rain and SNOW moving into north Georgia this evening was well done. They had ten field reporters dedicated to covering only the weather. The reporters and the photo-journalists were out in the cold. The anchors and meteorologists were in the warm studios. It’s a necessary mix to do the job as well as they did. However, my empathy was with the field reporters. You stand out in the snow, rain and wind waiting for them to switch to you to do your report. From the studios, you hear the voices seemingly going on and on while you and your photographer wait. It’s sometimes miserable out in the cold, but may be the best job in the world. It was for me.
