Stock market, interest rates and diversify

In the mid-years of my career at WSB-Television, I did a segment on the business news. It was necessary to learn from experts about the stock market and much of the rest of the business world. Two things I remember: 1. When interest rates are down, the stock market goes up. 2. The stock market usually is about six months ahead of the economy. For example, the Dow’s new record high is a harbinger of what lies ahead. There have been exceptions, but I’d prefer to believe that’s what’s happening on Wall Street now is not one of those exceptions. Regardless, diversify.
