Past and present…

Recently, I’ve watched two of the best broadway musicals of all time…broadway plays that became movies. They are “Oklahoma” and “Carousel”. The music and lyrics both are by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. From “Carousel”, there are “If I loved you?”, “June is bustin’ out all over”, and “You’ll never walk alone”. From Oklahoma, the title song, “Oklahoma”, “Surrey with a fringe on top”, and “I’m just a girl who can’t say no”. Both movies star Shirley Jones and Gordon McRae in the title roles. “Time” magazine once picked “Carousel” as the best movie musical of the 20th century. I can’t sing worth a plug nickel, but in my mind, I sing along like Gordon McRae. About the great music of today__________________________________???
