Tim Singleton

Today (Friday) my son retrieved from the attic video we shot of the Atlanta Peachtree Road Race founder Tim Singleton. Singleton was 76 when he died a couple of days ago. He was 70 when he called together a few of his former runners at Georgia State University. Singleton’s time at GSU lapped the 60s and 70s. These pioneers of the Peachtree reminisced. They laughed a lot and recalled that day in the late 60s when the coach and his athletes were driving back from a race in Columbus, Georgia. Tim says they could do better with a July 4th race down Peachtree….and they did. It was good to see Tim having fun and remembering that time so long ago. A memorial service for Tim is a week from tomorrow (Saturday) at a church in Dahlonega, Georgia
